Visiting Mommy & Daddy At Work

Last weekend the girls went to the SF zoo.  There was a peacock wandering around.  Katelyn tried to follow it.

They loved the big playground especially going on the swings.  They both asked to be pushed higher and higher, and tried to compete with one another to see who could go the highest.

Mason came over later that day.  They took turns playing tee-ball.

It's been a while since we have been to Uncle Larry's restaurant.  Uncle Dan joined the group for dinner.  All the kids liked being around Uncle Dan.  He threw the kids up in the air and everyone (except Sam) asked for more.

As an early treat for Katelyn's birthday, she got picked up from school and had lunch with Mommy and Daddy in the cafeteria.  She shared egg noodles with Mommy and had a ham sandwich, fries and fruit.  What a big lunch!  She's been eating better these days.  She still tends to be picky, but will eat bigger portions of what she likes.

Daddy showed Katelyn around his lab.  Safety first!  She wore googles.

Next, Katelyn went to Daddy's desk.  She was happy Daddy hung up a picture she drew.

She stopped by Mommy's building before heading back to school to nap.  Auntie Geneva told Katelyn she got so big since the last time she saw her last year.  Katelyn stopped by the snack area and Auntie Geneva gave her some fruit snacks.

Katelyn asked if she could go to Mommy and Daddy's work every day!  She was so happy! When she got back to school, all her friends crowded around her and asked her where she went.  She was proud to show off her vistor badge.

Bella has been practicing hard to put up 2 fingers and hold down the rest of the fingers to show people she is two years old.  She is finally able to do it!

This may be a look into the future.  Katelyn told Bella, let me put on make-up for your wedding.  The girls have a play set that looks like real make-up.

Katelyn decided to do Bella's nails next.  Bella enjoyed being the little model.  Mommy loves how close the girls are!

Life At School

Bella is adjusting to her new classroom.  The first two weeks she mainly observed and didn't play as much with other kids in the yard, but now she has become good friends with a couple girls in her class.  Being in the younger preschool class, she now does different activities with Gymboree.

She also participates in fitness class.  Just like her older sister, she likes the coaches.  Anytime Mommy says one of the coaches names, Bella has a big smile on her face.

Every 5 weeks, the kids learn a different sport.  Last month it was soccer.  Certificates are passed out to each child after a sport is completed.  As you can see, Bella is still insistent on wearing her winter hat even in the Spring.  Daddy thinks her hat is similar to having a security blanket.

She gets a high five from each coach!

Bella loves circle time especially when it's time to sing and read books.  The teachers say she is really engaged and also tries to be the circle time leader to request what song to sing.  Her bossy side must be coming out!

Every morning when Katelyn gets to school, she has to respond to the question of the day and draw a picture of the answer.  In addition she writes her name and the date.

Her classroom often has cooking activities with the chef along with being the first to try the new food items on the menu.

Last weekend, Eshaan invited the girls to get frozen yogurt.  He has a big crush on Katelyn and asks every weekend to play with Katelyn.  The teachers say Eshaan sticks to Katelyn like glue and follows her every where.

The girls went to a grand opening of an art studio hosted by Mommy's boss.

It's always a fun time at Happy Hallow.   The two can be so silly together!

Po Po and Gung Gung drove Ashley over for a play date while her parents were out.  It was such a nice day.  The girls took a walk around the lagoon and pretended to have a picnic.

This will be the last year the girls have sibling pictures at their school.

The photographer tickled Bella with a feather to make her smile.

Can't believe what a big girl she is!

Out and About

Home Depot has a kids workshop the first Saturday of each month.  The girls went for the first time.  This month was building a butterfly house.  Katelyn focused hard trying to hammer the nail.  She said the hammer was heavy.

Bella tried using the screw driver

After the project was complete, Katelyn wanted to go home and put some food in the house for the butterflies.

The sisters met Courtney and Uncle Pete for dinner at Santana Row.  The three girls collected leaves afterwards.

Auntie Stef, Uncle Jason and Preston were shopping at Valleyfair and stopped by to say hi.  Mommy and Auntie Stef swapped kids.

A group picture before everyone went home.

Now that Katelyn is in a new swimming class, she is learning new techniques.  She is glad to have Teacher Jane again at her new time slot.  She is learning how to do dives and pencil jumps.

Bella has been keeping busy at home playing magnatiles.   She plays with them every day.  She tells Mommy she is building a tower.

Daddy hosted a birthday dinner for Uncle Richard's birthday.  Auntie Daisy brought over a festive bundt cake.

At Katelyn's dentist appointment, she had no cavities.  Her favorite part of going to the dentist is watching Paw Patrol.

Mommy always catches Bella singing.  She has learned many songs from school.  Take a listen.

Engagaement & Minion Party plus Easter!

We are over the moon happy Uncle Derek and Auntie Gabby are getting married this Fall.  Their friends had an engagement party a few weeks ago to celebrate the great news!

The girls took a picture with the guests of honors before the guests arrived.  We can't wait until the big day!  The girls already love Auntie Gabby.  She used to be a preschool teacher and is natural with kids.

The same day was Luke's third party.  He was so cute with his Minion glasses.  The Minion pinata was one to remember.  It was almost unbreakable.  Uncle Dan even broke the plastic bat trying to break open the pinata.

As you may know, the girls are pretty active and didn't pass up the chance to play basketball.  Katelyn dribbled the ball in the backyard and with Uncle Dan's assistance, was able to dunk the ball into the basket.

Of course, Bella wants to do whatever jei jei does, so she wanted a turn.  She even held onto the rim for a few seconds trying to be a true baller.

Auntie Lilian has a lemon tree in her backyard and some of the guests requested lemonade.  Katelyn was Auntie Lilian's helper and squeezed the juice out of the lemons.

The sisters decorated Easter eggs at Po Po & Gung Gung's house.  Katelyn drew designs on the eggs.

Bella loves to listen to books and pays close attention.

Gung Gung and Po Po have a nicely landscaped yard and there were lots of places to hide eggs.  The girls were so excited to find them.  Bella found one by the plant.

Katelyn was really quick and found many, but was nice enough to leave some for Bella or would tell her were they were.   She wanted to show Mommy how many she found.

Cheese!

The best part was opening up the eggs to see what treats were inside.

Bella and Katelyn had another egg hunt at Ashley's house.  Daddy captured this time lapse video.

Afterwards, Katelyn and Ashley put on a musical performance and sang Frozen songs.  The blanket was the curtain behind the stage.  They lined up chairs and made everyone sit and said, come watch  our show!
