So Many Reasons To Celebrate!

Bella has been watching parts of the Warrior's game with Daddy.  She claps her hands when they make a basket.

She also gives him high fives when they score.

The girls celebrated Emi's birthday at a gym.  The kiddies got together for a group picture with Uncle Ken.

There was a wagon at the gym that Mommy has been wanting to purchase.  She asked the gym if she could test it out, so the kids took it for spin.

Mason and Katelyn wanted to help push and return the wagon back to the gym.

The next day was Sam's Red Egg and Ginger party.  She got all dolled up for her big day.

The girls headed to a bbq at Auntie Michelle and Uncle Will's house afterwards to celebrate Auntie Diane and Uncle Manchuek's 37th anniversary and Auntie Annie's birthday.  Auntie Michelle has a bunny named Thumper.  The girls wanted to pet her.

In their backyard, Uncle Will likes to raise chickens.  They have fresh eggs every couple of days.  There's a white nectarine tree in their yard.  Bella ate at least 3 nectarines.

Auntie Diane put Bella in charge of making the salad.  Bella put the lettuce in the bowl and tossed it.

Congratulations to Josh who graduated from 8th grade!  He was so loved and got many leis from family and friends.

The girls each wanted a picture with Josh.

Katelyn took one with him at dinner.

Katelyn has been progressing in her new swim class.  She got a sticker for her underwater swim and pencil jumps.

Terrible Twos In Full Effect

Being 2 is rough.  Bella is really upset when she doesn't get what she wants.  It's the end of the world for this little one.

She will lie on the floor with her face planted down and cry.  There's something to be said for the younger one, her older sister never did this!

However, she has regressed in sleep just like Katelyn did at 2 years old. Bella no longer can be put down awake.  She wants someone in her room until she falls asleep.  She typically wakes up at 1am standing in her crib, crying for Mommy.  Mommy will make Bella lie back down in her crib and stay in her room until she falls asleep.  Bella will cry again around 4 or 5am.  At that point, Mommy will go back in Bella's room and end up sleeping with Bella on the guest bed until it's time to get up.  What a spoiled little girl!

She has been getting timeouts for throwing things on the floor.   Bella hates time outs, but this girl has to learn!

Bella still puts up a fight when ever it's time to sit in her car seat.  She will stand or arch her body when Mommy tries to strap her in.

She doesn't like to change her diaper or her clothes.  She will run away any chance she gets.  She thinks it is really funny to do this.

The teachers have told Mommy, Bella kicks off her right shoe every day during lunch.  Some of her friends at school have started doing the same thing.  The teachers say the kids don't talk about it, it just happens.  When lunch is over, the teachers will see a small pile of shoes under the table.  Mommy never noticed this until this past weekend, Bella's right shoe was off.  What a strange habit especially since it's always just the right foot!

Katelyn's class had a showcase and displayed dioramas of the solar system they made.  Katelyn named each planet when Mommy and Daddy came to the showcase.

Her class had a field trip to the Academy of Sciences as a fun way to end the solar system curriculum by watching the planetarium show.   Katelyn loved spending time with her teachers outside of school.

The kids lined up for a class photo after eating lunch in the cafe.

The girls went to the  Children's Creativity Museum in Yerba Buena Gardens over the weekend.  Katelyn built this tower.

She made an airship in the Innovation room.

Katelyn got to test it out.

Bella pretended to make pancakes and served it to Mommy.

She also liked building a tower.

The afternoon ended with lunch and ice cream for dessert.

Mother's Day Weekend

It's the beginning of the month which means Home Depot workshop.  The girls made bird houses and painted them.

Katelyn of course chose her favorite color, pink.

Katelyn picked up her prescription glasses.  She is a little far sighted.  She also has convergence insufficiency which means the eyes have a strong tendency to drift outward when reading or seeing up close. The glasses will help her focus more on up close things.  She will use them for school work, reading or using the iPad.

Mommy forgot to post pictures of Katelyn's first eye exam, so here they are.

Auntie Caroline and Uncle Vu invited us over for an early Mother's Day celebration dinner.  Uncle Vu grilled steaks.  The moms, kids and grandma took a picture before heading home.

Daddy made reservations for brunch on Mother's Day.   Mommy feels so blessed for these two girls.

The sister's went to Tao Po's house to celebrate with Mommy's side of the family.  Uncle Derek and Auntie Gabby brought over their dogs.  Bella fed Taz and thought it was funny when he licked her hand.

Tao Po wanted to hold Bella, so Bella sat on her lap while she ate fruit for dessert.  Tao Pao is looking good at 92 years old!

All the moms got together for a picture.

Bella's favorite book is Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?  She can sit by herself and recite the words, although she doesn't go in chronological order.

Happy 5th Birthday!

Katelyn and Bella decorated cupcakes to bring to school for Katelyn's birthday.  Their  job was to line the cupcake tins.

Katelyn's teachers let her pass out the cupcakes to her classmates.  The teachers always put on gloves when passing out food. The same rule applied to Katelyn.

She was very careful as she gave each person a cupcake.

Teacher Karen took a video of the birthday song the kids sang.

The kids had a costume dress up party since they filled up the pom pom jar for good behavior.  Katelyn dressed up as Princess Aurora.  As an added bonus, they got to choose a design for face painting.

Katelyn invited all her friends from school for a celebration at the play house.

Her favorite show these days is Paw Patrol which was the theme of the party.

The girls walked around the Embarcadero the next day and had lunch.  Mommy wanted to show Katelyn the brick Daddy got for Father's day awhile back at AT&T park.  Mommy could not remember the exact location of the brick only that it was in Seal Plaza.  It seemed like it was the longest walk ever to get to the brick since it was an extremely hot day.  Once we found it,  Katelyn was happy to see her name on it.  Sorry Bella! You were not born yet when the brick was made.

That night Katelyn had dinner with Daddy's side of the family.  Auntie Caroline brought a cake to the restaurant.  The waiter surprised Katelyn with a birthday song and tall candles to blow out.

Auntie Jill and Millie made cupcakes and virtually sent them to Katelyn.  Judging by Millie's face, they were pretty yummy!

Happy 5th, Katelyn.  You are growing up way too fast!! You will always be our little princess.
