Thanksgiving Feasts

Mommy volunteered in Katelyn's classroom last week.  The kids learned about abstract art.  Mommy helped the kids think about different shapes and objects to tell a story through art.

Bella is loving her new class.  Each day the teacher draws names for the kids to pick a job.  Bella's favorite job is to be the bell ringer.  The bell ringer job is ringing the bell when it's time to go inside from the yard and line up.

The girls have been playing Zingo lately.  Bella is pretty good at the game and doesn't need any help.  She won 3 times in a row.  Katelyn asked how did she get so lucky!

Po Po was in Japan for Thanksgiving, so Auntie Michelle hosted an early Thanksgiving dinner before Po Po left.  The girls and Ethan played goldfish before dinner.

Bella liked petting Thumper and was really gentle with him.

Mommy held Mocha Mochi before she got too squirmish for a picture.

The girls went to Auntie Shirley and Uncle Rob's annual Thanksgiving lunch.  McKenna taught Katelyn and Courtney how to make bracelets out of rubber bands.  The girls caught on pretty quick.  They loved it and each got a bag of rubber bands to take home to make more bracelets.

Grandma, Aiden's family and Uncle Richard came over for dinner that night.

The final Thanksgiving feast- Gung Gung's side of the family came over for a potluck.  Katelyn asked Mommy if she could curl her hair before everyone came over.  She's so girly!

Daddy baked a turkey that was really moist.

Julia drew the kids pictures of animals they requested.

The girls had so much fun hanging with their extended family!

Transition Time

Bella started her new class last week.  She wanted Mommy to stay with her for a little bit during circle time.  She woke up in the morning with bad constipation and was not her happy self.

Teacher R. is Bella's primary teacher.  She was the same teacher Katelyn had 2 years ago.  Bella is well adjusted to her new classroom.  She likes participating in art class and having share day every Wednesday.

Katelyn is learning what to do in an emergency.  Her class had a field trip to the Fire Station.

Each kid had a turn in the captain seat.

Bella is doing much better in swimming these days. She switched to a new teacher.  She was becoming lazy before and didn't want to paddle to the distance of the wall.  Mommy was so proud of her for earning a sticker for her paddling.  The teacher gave her a high five.

Bella couldn't help smiling.  Rewards works well with this little one.

The girls celebrated Kalina's second birthday.  Kalina is already taller than Bella and can out eat Katelyn.

Auntie Michelle did face paint on the kids.  Bella asked for Dr. McStuffins on her arm.

Katelyn was so happy to have a reunion with her preschool friends at Delores Park.  Katelyn always has such fond memories of these girls.

There was a very windy slide at the park.  Katelyn was scared at first, but Daphne convinced her it was fun.  Katelyn ended up going on it a dozen times.

Bella had fun on the swing.  Siblings were invited to the play date as well.

Bella is asking more these days to sit on the potty. She rarely pees in it, but says, "I want to try going potty!"  Daddy gave her a pep talk and told her, she could do it.  Daddy has been great reading books to her while waiting for her to go.  The pediatrician said because she has bad constipation (she takes medicine everyday) potty training can take longer for her.  Mommy is in no rush and secretly thinks diapers are easier.

Happy Halloween!

Katelyn brought in a pumpkin to carve for class.  She said she did not like touching the inside of the pumpkin.  She scooped out the seeds.  Her teacher took the seeds home and roasted them for the class to try the next day.

Parent volunteers came in to help the kids carve their pumpkin.  This was the design she made on her pumpkin.

The girls smiled for the camera after all their hard work of carving.

On Halloween day, Katelyn and Bella wore their Super Girl costumes from last year. Glad to see they still fit!

Mommy and Daddy were not able to attend the Halloween parade due to work, so it was nice to see her teacher upload a picture of the children in their costumes.

Katelyn was excited to see her neighbor Jamie dressed up as Super Woman.

Bella wanted to take a pic with Daddy before she changed into her night costume for trick-or treating.  She liked that Daddy was wearing red too.  Red is her favorite color.

Tinkerbell and Elsa were ready to head out to collect candy.

They loved ringing the door bells and waited patiently for the door to open.

Bella got her flu shot and there were no tears from this little one.

Daddy rewarded her with with a breakfast doughnut for doing a good job.

Over the weekend, the girls celebrated Adam's birthday. If you look closely the two are holding hands.  Katelyn said Adam would not let go of her hand.

Auntie Caroline asked the girls to join Aiden at the Bay Area Science festival.  Companies had different activities for kids to learn about science.  Katelyn made her fingerprint.

Mommy thought this display was so cute to take a picture in.

There were sticks on the field for kids to build.  Katelyn tried making a tepee while Bella danced around the field.

She also built a car out of plastic and foam wheels.  She tested it down the ramp when she was done.

A nice scientist gave the kids special sunglasses made for viewing an eclipse, but in this case just the sun.

The girls met Daddy's cousin's baby Amelia for the first time at her Red Egg and Ginger party. She had cheeks everyone wanted to pinch.

Group photo before heading out to the next celebration.

And the last party- Happy Birthday, Uncle Derek!

Weekend Festivities

Bella's school had their annual Imagination Parade.  The kids made their own costumes with the help of their teachers.  Bella was asked to bring a white shirt which she painted grey.

This year, her class picked the book, Don't Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus. Accompanying the grey t-shirts, the kids made feather head bands and paper plates that resembled a steering wheel.

Bella loved walking in the parade with her friends!

Mommy sneaked in a picture with Bella after the parade.

Katelyn, Ashley and Bella dressed up as Rapunzel, Tiana and Elsa to watch Disney on Ice.

Afterwards, they celebrated Tao Po's 92nd birthday.  Gung Gung was acting silly behind the camera trying to make Bella laugh/smile and Tao Po ended up laughing the most.

Mommy is so happy Tao Po is feeling better these days!

Four generations picture- not entirely sure what Bella is looking up at.

Gung Gung read Bella stories before heading to the restaurant for more celebrating.

Bella's new thing is making binocular around her eyes when taking a picture.  Uncle Derek and Auntie Gabby decided to join her.

Uncle Derek and Auntie Gabby purchased a van and converted it into their own camper with a bed and sink since they love the outdoors.  Look how many people can fit inside!  It's still a work in progress, but it's pretty cool so far.

Katelyn's after school program hosted a Halloween carnival and Haunted House.  She didn't recognize Teacher C. and was initially afraid to take a picture with him.  He had scary eyes.

The carnival had many games like bowling with a plastic pumpkin.

Bella liked getting face painting, but she choose to have a pumpkin on her on arm instead of face.

Katelyn decorated a bag for her Halloween treats.

Bella is transitioning soon to a new classroom.  A space opened up early before she turned three.  She is excited though to be reunited with some of her friends that have turned three already.  Although she will miss her teachers in the Koalas.
