Aloha From Maui: Part 2.

The girls did a mini hike to Dragon's teeth to reach this maze.  Katelyn started at the beginning and found her way to the center.  Bella jumped through a couple rows and eventually made it to the middle.

The hike was pretty hot since there was no shade.  They cooled off with shaved ice.

One of the days was spent at Maui Ocean center.   At the entrance maps were given to kids to find different Hawaiian symbols.   Once the symbol was found, the objective was to use a rock to sketch the symbol.

There was a tank of sea turtles that swam by.

Katelyn and Bella thought it was funny to pretend to be scared of being eaten by a shark.

Daddy drove to Makena beach.  Unfortunately it was a pretty cloudy that afternoon.  The waves were pretty big and the life guard tower made an announcement it was not safe to go into the water, so the sisters sat together and watched the waves splash.

The sun finally peeked through. Auntie Stef bought them matching swimsuits.

The girls checked out the pirate ship at the Westin property next door.  Katelyn had fun going down the slide.

Katelyn requested to eat at Star Noodle another night.  She really like the udon and pork belly buns. This time we didn't have reservations. An hour wait time and we ended up sitting at the bar.

Bella got pretty good using chopsticks.  The bartender wanted to feature Bella on their restaurant's instagram feed since she was so well behaved sitting at the bar and good at using chopsticks.

Daddy wanted one more pic of the family heading to the beach before going to the airport.

Daddy made quick stop at the bakery and the girls enjoyed hot malasadas at the airport before getting on the plane.   Thanks Maui for the great family memories!

Aloha from Maui: Part 1.

One of the girls' favorite vacation spots is Hawaii.  This year to change it up, the destination was the island of Maui.  Shaka signs before take off.

The first thing the girls wanted to do was hit the pool.

There was a big section of the Westin property that had pools for kids and splash areas.  Bella liked stepping on these splash drains and was always surprised when the water would spout up.

Each day Katelyn and Bella would spend hours in the pool.  They would take a break and enjoy strawberry smoothies poolside.

There was a kid club at the resort.  The girls signed up for pottery painting.  Katelyn picked a butterfly to paint and Bella a heart jewelry box.

The next day the girls made puka shell bracelets.

Here's the final products.

This was our concierge, Monica who signed up the girls with different activities at the kid's club.  Each morning, Katelyn and Bella would walk over to say hello to Monica.

Mommy wanted to take a picture of the beautiful property they stayed at.

Katelyn and Bella loved the shave ice from Ululani's Hawaiian shop.

A vacation wouldn't be complete without eating and trying new restaurants for our family!  Allen got reservations at Star Noodle.  Bella wanted to use chopsticks and slurped her noodles.

There were bbq grills outside our villa.  Daddy grilled chicken and hot dogs for us to enjoy on the patio.

Stay tuned for more updates on our Maui vacation.

Congrats Uncle Richard and Auntie Daisy

Uncle Richard and Auntie Daisy tied the knot at the Palm Event Center.  Katelyn and Bella were flower girls.  Here's a video of them walking down the aisle each with a different task.  Katelyn was a little nervous walking down the aisle, but both girls did really well.

The bride and groom had a huge wedding party of kids.

Congrats to the newlyweds!

The girls saw some family members they have not seen in awhile like Kaylyn and Rayden.

Po Po, Gung Gung and Uncle Derek also attended the wedding. Auntie Gabby had to work.  The girls hung out with them before the reception started.  In the courtyard, there were life size games like Connect Four and Jenga.

Uncle Augie emailed Mommy this family picture he took.

Katelyn and her partner, Maddie became instant friends.  The two and Bella were obsessed with taking photo booth pictures.  They must have taken at least 5 different photos.

Katelyn participated in the bouquet toss.

When the music started for the guests to go on the dance floor, Bella did not hesitate and was one of the first to dance. She took off her headband and let loose. Take a look at a few of her dance move videos.

Katelyn wrote the wording "Uncle Richard here comes yours bride." The girls were honored to be part of the wedding.

We are so happy for the bride and groom and wish them a lifetime of love and happiness!

Two Week of VBS

Mommy signed up Katelyn for VBS (Vocation Bible Study) in the East Bay.  Katelyn stayed with Gung Gung and Po Po for two weeks, the duration of VBS.  She and Ashley were both enrolled in the same class.  Here's the two girls on their first day with Teacher Andrew.

Bella enjoyed being an only child.  She played with her sand toys in the backyard.

She set up a tea party picnic for Mommy and served cupcakes and pizza.

Each evening, Bella and Katelyn FaceTimed each other and made silly faces.

Bella had lunch with Mommy and Daddy at work and checked out Mommy's open space area.

Po Po text Mommy this picture and said, Katelyn has a good appetite.  She must like Po Po's cooking.

The last day of VBS was a celebration.  Katelyn earned a certificate for perfect attendance.

Katelyn had so much fun learning about God.  She recited bible verses and sang many different songs.  She can't wait to go back next year.

Bella decided to try on some of the arts and crafts Katelyn made at VBS.

The girls celebrated Gung Gung's birthday.  He doesn't seem to age!

Nicholas, Julia and Aunt Vandy were here for the summer from Japan.  The cousins always pick up from where they last left over and have so much fun together.

Nicholas showed off his strength by carrying the girls.

The girls had another weekend of water play at the Wave in Dublin.

There was an olympic size pool which provided shade from the burning heat.
