First Time Bowlers

On Saturday, Daddy had to go into work to prepare some experiments, so Mommy took the girls to Target.  Mommy was hoping both girls would sit in the shopping cart the whole time.  That didn't happen.  Bella lasted no more than 10 minutes and wanted out.  The only time she will sit in a cart is for samples at Costco!

Tao Po hasn't been feeling well.  The girls paid her a visit afterwards.  Ta Po is always happy to see her great grand children.  They definitely cheered her up.  Helping Bella drink water put a smile on Tao Po's face.

It was a really hot day, so everyone enjoyed popsicles.   Bella would not let go of hers and wanted to eat the whole thing.

Mommy suggested having a bowling play date with James and Auntie Lilian.  Katelyn and Mommy met at James' house.  Katelyn loves to carry babies and held Kalina.

It was both Katelyn and James' first time bowling  They didn't have shoes small enough to fit Katelyn, so she ended up just wearing her crocs.  Auntie Lilian found 6 pound balls which was the lightest, but still pretty heavy for the kids.

Take a look at Katelyn's attempt of rolling the ball.  Mommy said this was the slowest bowling game ever!  There were a few times, the ball got stuck in the middle of the lane since Katelyn could not roll it hard enough.

Katelyn tried the 9 pound ball.  She wanted to use that ball every turn since it was pink despite it being really heavy for her.

These were the final scores.   James was player 2 and Katelyn was player 3.  For some reason, the computer wouldn't let us input the names.

Whenever, Bella sees the fridge door open, she has a tendency to run over and sit down.  When Mommy took out her phone to take a picture, Bella said, "cheese!"

After sitting, she will always try to stand too. What a naughty girl!

An Afternon At The Zoo

Auntie Jill and Millie were up North last weekend visiting.  Bella loves animals, so a perfect meeting place was the Oakland zoo.  If you look closely at this picture, an ape is  diagonally across from Auntie Jill's head.  Bella likes to make monkey sounds when she sees them.  As Mommy mentioned before, Bella does not like to smile on command.

Mommy took a family selfie on the safari train ride.  We saw emus, deers and baby kangaroos.

K enjoyed seeing the giraffes.

During lunch, K wanted to hold Millie who is 9 months old.  Doesn't Millie look the same size as K?  She definitely weighs the same as Bella.  It was a fun day at the zoo!  We hope Millie and Auntie Jill come back to visit again soon!

Sunday, Ashley, Auntie Annie, Ethan, Gung Gung and Po Po came over for a bbq.  Daddy set up a tent for the girls to play with in the backyard.

K really knew how to kick back and relax in her castle.  She laid down and ate snacks.  What a true princess!

While the girls played with the tent, Bella and Gung Gung were occupied with kinetic sand.

The evening ended with cake for Gung Gung's birthday.

When it's time to go grocery shopping, K always asks to go to Trader Joe's, so she can push her own cart.

Bella went to visit K's school the other day.  K was excited to show Bella her playground and helped her up to the play structure.  Bella will be starting the same school next month.  It will probably be a tough adjustment initially since Bella has stranger anxiety, but hopefully she will love the place as much as her older sister.

July 4th Weekend

Auntie Becca invited the girls to the Alameda County Fair.   It was scorching hot, but the kids were able to escape the heat for a little bit doing some arts and crafts.  K and Mason made pin wheels.  Bella would not smile on command.  Daddy said she is good at mugging.

There were big cranes and tractors at the fairgrounds.  Mason and K liked to go on each of them and pretend to drive them.

Last Sunday, K earned a sticker for her back swim.  She can back swim for 38 feet.

Here's a video of her doing her up faces and paddling.

On Saturday, the girls headed to Brentwood to go strawberry picking with Po Po, Ethan, Ashley and Auntie Annie.  Bella loved to pull the berries off the stems.

Bella spent more time eating then picking.

The strawberries were so sweet and juicy as you can see by her face.

K told Mommy, she is good at picking strawberries!

An hour into picking the berries, everyone was pretty much ready to go due to the hot weather.  The  gang ended up with 4 boxes to take home.

Sunday, the girls had lunch at Santana Row with Daddy's side of the family.  Daddy drove to the Academy of Sciences afterwards, so the girls could take a longer nap.  Most days, Mommy and the girls can be seen walking hand in hand.

Bella loved looking at the fish.  She would giggle every time a fish swam by her.

Now that Bella has teeth, she has been getting into the routine of brushing them.  She watches her big sister and tries to copy her.
