End Of Year Celebration

Katelyn participated in Discovery Day at her school.  There were different exhibits for the kids to learn about science, engage in arts and crafts and this one in particular where she got to hold a snake!

Since the weather has been so warm lately, Katelyn has been requesting to go on bike rides before dinner.  Daddy installed the seat in the back for Bella.  She loves it!

Check out those smiles.

They ride along the lagoon and make pit stops.  These two really do love each other despite their bickering.

The girls had a play date with Preston.  Mommy wanted a picture of the 3 kids.  It took a few tries of silliness before getting one nice picture.

Mommy and Daddy attended Katelyn's last day celebration.  180 days flew by so fast!

The kids sang a song for all the parents.

Each student received a flower and certificate for having a great year in Kindergarten.  Katelyn said the last day of school was bittersweet.  She is happy she going to first grade, but will miss Mrs. B so much.  She was one special teacher!

Daddy and Mommy are so proud of their big girl!

Katelyn will also miss her friends.  She hopes to be in the same class as them in the Fall.

Break A Leg

The kindergarten classes put on a performance about neighborhood helpers.  A class picture before the little actors and actresses got on stage.

Katelyn and some of her bffs.

Katelyn played one of the six chefs.  Mrs. B told Mommy, Kately did a great job learning her lyrics and sang loudly.

Katelyn also carried the sign to signify the the 8th community helper in the performance.  She seemed more nervous carrying the sign than singing.  She walked incredibly fast.

After the show, Katelyn and her fellow chef, Kaitlyn along with Alana posed for a picture.

Katelyn's after school program also put on a show to wish the 5h graders good luck.  They sang So Long Farewell.

Bella and Mommy Facetimed Po Po the night before she departed on her European vacation.

Katelyn was so happy to see the sunflower seeds she gave Mommy for Mother's Day spurted into a bud.  She has been watering the seeds a few times a week.

The kids were over at Auntie Becca and Uncle Ken's to watch the NBA finals.  Go Warriors!!

Yosemite National Park

Uncle Pete organized a trip to Yosemite over Memorial Day weekend.  We stayed in a lodge and the first thing the kids did was climb on top of the bunk bed.  Glamping was the way to go.

There were 7 families, 16 adults and 15 kids on the trip.  We managed to get a couple group shots. This was on the stage area outside the lodge.  The kids put on a performance and sang the theme song from Moana.

Some of the moms on the trip were teachers and helped wrangled the kids together.  They even managed to almost have all the kids looking at the camera.

The first hike on the trip was to lower Yosemite Falls.  Bella wanted to be a true hiker and found some hiking sticks.

Katelyn on the other hand made a new friend and held hands with Auntie Andrea's nephew during the hike.  Not sure Daddy approved of that!

All the rainfall from this season made for a wet experience at the falls.  Bella did not like getting wet.

Leaving the falls we managed to capture more group photos.

While the younger kids napped, the older kids went on a bike ride.  They did pretty good since most of them just learned how to ride a bike recently.

After a job well done, the kids got ice-cream.

Bella and Nata knew how to live the good life.  They snacked while relaxing on the lawn chairs.

Buses were our main mode of transportation to visit the other village sites.  We got lucky and had this bus to ourselves.  Some outings we were not as lucky when we had to wait for several buses to come.  Most were packed with passengers and wouldn't let anymore on.

We also hiked to Mirror Lake.

Cheese!

The kids liked using sticks to touch the water.

The dads and Uncle Eric got together most evenings on the back yard porch.

Before heading home, the girls checked out Bridalveil Falls with Court and Natalie.  Everyone got drenched.  Even our shoes were soaking wet.  The group had such an awesome time on the trip, Uncle Pete already booked Yosemite for 2018.

Spring Show

Katelyn's gymnastic class had a spring performance.  Only 2 out of the 8 girls from her class signed up for the show.  It was optional.  Katelyn and Lauren were the two brave souls from their class.  Take a peek.

When the routines were complete, the gymnasts received a medal and certificate for participating.

Bella ran into her preschool friend and the two hung out together as they waited and cheered for their sisters.

Mommy was very proud of her girl!

The kids celebrated Uncle Dan's birthday at Uncle Larry's restaurant.

Thank you for dinner, Uncle Larry!

The chicks in Katelyn's class hatched after 21 days in the incubator.  Mrs. B invited Bella to the classroom to see the new chicks.  She witnessed one coming out the shell and opening it's eyes for the first time.

Mommy volunteered in Katelyn's classroom for Art in Action.  She can't believe in a few weeks Kindergarten will be over.
