Isabella Has Arrived!

Mommy's water broke on Sunday at 11:20 pm. Since her water didn't break the first time, she was unsure what it felt like. Daddy called the doctor and the doctor asked Mommy to come in to test and make sure. Sure enough the water had punctured, but Mommy was not dilated. Contractions did not start until 5 hours later.  As the contractions became more intense, Mommy wanted an epidural right away! Mommy progressed to 3 cm, 6 cm and needed some potocin to move things along even further. She reached 10 cm fairly quickly after and pushed for 30 minutes and Isabella entered the world. Mommy couldn't believe how much faster and easier delivery was compared to the first.

Isabella "Bella" Grace
January 27, 2014
6 pounds, 11 ounces
18.5 inches
1:03 pm
And so much hair!

Dr. Diaz delivered both K and Bella.

It was love at first sight!

Big Sister K was really excited to come visit her new sibling at the hospital. She got a sticker that said "I'm special to be a big sister!"  When she got to the hospital she asked to touch Bella right away.

Bella spoiled K by giving her many gifts.

K asked to hold Bella. She is such a proud and happy big sister. She told all her friends the next day at school about Bella.

Mommy knows K will protect and love her new sibling.

Bella's first bath. It must be nice to be pampered.

Bella getting her weight checked. She lost 7 ounces, but will probably gain it back in a couple of weeks.

She passed her hearing test. The equipment used for testing changed from two years ago. The baby wore big headphones instead and did not need to have wires plugged to her head.

All buckled up and ready to go home. Mommy is looking forward to seeing the bond and love between the two sisters develop. Mommy is so in love with her family of 4!
