Bella turned 2 months old last Wednesday. She was a trooper to have her picture taken despite having a cold and cough. This is the second time she has gotten sick since she was born.
Big sister Katelyn wanted to join in on the fun.
At Bella's 2 month check up, she got 3 shots. One was an oral shot. She held Daddy's finger while the nurse fed it to her. She even gave the nurse a smile after she was done. The taste of the shot was similar to sugar water. Maybe Bella will have a sweet tooth like Daddy when she grows up.
Bella's weight, height and head circumference are all in the 50th percentile.
Weight: 10 pounds, 9 ounces
Height: 22.25 inches
Head circumference: 15 inches
She will see Dr. Mason again when she is 4 months old.

Hold Me!
Bella is a baby that likes to be constantly held. At restaurants, she won't stay in the car seat and will whine and fuss until she is picked up. And not only picked up, but she wants someone to walk around as well. Talk about high maintenance! The pacifier will sometimes work and help soothe her. She usually ends up spitting it out though once she is asleep.
Night time and nap time can be challenging. After nursing, she needs to be held upright because of her acid reflux for at least 10-15 minutes. Sometimes Bella will be asleep after eating, other times she needs to be rocked and bounced on the exercise ball when she is tired and wants to go to sleep. Just when Mommy thinks she is snoring and out, Mommy goes to lay her down and once Bella's butt hits the pack and play, this is what Mommy will find. Her eyes are wide open staring at Mommy! She's probably thinking you can't outsmart me.
Mommy will pat her hoping she will go back to sleep. No such luck and within no more than 5 minutes, a loud cry will follow. The whole process will start all over with the rocking and bouncing. How frustrating!
Bella's favorite position is laying on someone's chest. It doesn't matter who's chest. She enjoys the feel of a heartbeat.
That's probably why she can sleep soundly in the Ergo. She will put up a fight when she first goes in, but after 10 minutes of bouncing she is fast asleep.
Despite Mommy's arms being tired, she will try to enjoy holding Bella all the time since before you know it, Bella will grow up so fast!

More Birthday Parties!
Luke turned 1 and had a party at a clubhouse in San Ramon. He had really nice warm weather on his special day!
K hung out with Allison and Aiden at the party. Allison helped K get water and a cupcake. Allison's Mommy said Allison loves to play the big sister role. She's really good at it!
K and Mason walked hand and hand out when it was time to leave the party.
Auntie Justine came to visit Bella. She brought Mommy lunch. Auntie Justine is having another girl. She lives close by which means more play dates!
Every morning, K runs into Mommy and Daddy's room and says," I want to say good morning to baby sister!" Then gives her a hug and kiss.
Bella enjoys this morning routine as she looks lovingly back at her crazy big sister.
When it's time to give Bella a bath, K wants to help out. Her job is to wash Bella's feet and legs.
Over the weekend, we celebrated Luke's first birthday. Bella and Luke met for the first time.
Luke was not afraid to get his fingers dirty and loved smashing his cake.
Auntie Stef and Auntie Les ate strawberries with K at the party. Of course, K could not take a serious picture.
The theme of Luke's party was Sesame Street. One of the activities, the guests could participate in was cookie decorating. The kids made different Sesame Street characters.
This was K's version of Elmo.
It was a mini school reunion at the party. Auntie Stef and Les and Mommy were roommates in college.
Auntie Lilian, Mommy and the other Auntie Steph at the end of the picture went to high school together.
Later that evening, K had dinner with her cousin Aiden. Afterwards they got a special treat and went to the Lego Store to play. What a busy but fun weekend!

Tummy Time & Cooing
One of Bella's daily activity is tummy time. Despite her crying, she continues to practice daily.
She is making great progress as her head control gets stronger by the day. She has a fierce look of determination on her face thinking I can do this!
Bella is showing early signs of cooing.
When Mommy talks to her, it seems as though she tries to reply back. Mommy can't remmber when babies can smile, but doesn't it look like Bella is smiling in this video?

Future Thumb Sucker
Bella has discovered her fingers and tries to put them in her mouth.
Daddy predicts she will be a future thumb sucker. Maybe she will learn to self soothe herself, so Mommy doesn't have to rock her during the day.
The other day Bella visited Tao Pao. Tao Pao asked to hold Bella. She told Mommy she took care of 4 kids plus two grandchildren. She said she still got it and knows a thing or two when it comes to holding kids.
K's classroom celebrated Dr. Seuss birthday. During the month of March, her teachers will be reading Dr Seuss stories. K's favorite one to read at home is Green Eggs and Ham.
K decided to put her doll's car seat on top of her shopping cart and pretend to be shopping at Target. She noticed a Mommy do this once at the store and decided to copy.
K is always so silly! Never a dull moment with this almost 3 year old!

March Birthday Celebrations
The month of March has begun with many birthday celebrations. Mommy celebrated her birthday with dinner at Po Po and Gung Gung's house. Our first family picture.
Mommy has been trying to balance her time and pay special attention to K.
Daddy's birthday is 2 days after Mommy's. Po Po watched Bella while Mommy and Daddy had lunch at the Embarcerdo at La Mar for some Peruvian food. The restaurant is known for their ceviche.
Daddy's side of the family came over and brought cake to celebrate. Daddy and his first born.
Daddy and his new baby girl.
Over the weekend was Courtney's 3rd party. Her party was at Play! Los Altos. There was a giant room filled with all sorts of toys and activities for children.
There was this yellow board where K would make an impression of her face and body.
K's favorite thing was jumping in the foam block pit with Tristan.
)
Bella practiced tummy time while Charlie practiced her crawling.
Auntie Ali shared this pic of Bella that was taken off her camera from the party. It looks like B is smiling, but it's probably gas.
The last party we attended over the weekend was Ava's at Super Franks. The highlight of the party was Auntie Jenn made a slide show of Ava for everyone to watch during the party.

Got Volume!
Bella woke up with this bed head. Does she look like a boy punk rocker?
It's safe to say this girl has a ton of volume. Her hair is even long enough to put behind her ears!
Parent's shouldn't compare their kids, but K was so bald when she was born and Bella was born with a full set of hair. Funny how the girls are two extremes! K is 3 months below and only had peach fuzz for hair.

Family Resemblance
Bella is more alert these days and starting to notice the people around her and more aware of her environment.
When Bella was born she had a blocked tear duct. Dr. Mason prescribed her eye drops to help her tears from constantly falling.
Bella is not a fan of the stroller, but Mommy is hoping to change that. We took a family stroll around the lagoon while Bella napped in the stroller. K thew rocks in the water and made ripples.
Po Po has been our lifesaver. She stayed over for a month after Bella was born. She cooked all the meals and held Bella when Mommy ate her lunch and took a shower. She also tended to K when she woke up in the middle of the night which was a tremendous help! We are so thankful and grateful for all that Po Po does!
