Afternoon At The Exploratorium And Pumpkin Patch

Katelyn got hit with the stomach virus and had to be out of school for a few days.  Bella told Katelyn, I will give you a hug to make you feel better.

When Katelyn returned to her after school program, she was excited to show off her Halloween design the teacher made her.

Daddy took advantage of the free Exploratorium passes his work gives out to employees.  The girls spent the afternoon there.  Daddy invited Aiden and his family, grandma, Uncle Richard and Auntie Daisy.  There were many exhibits to see and experience hands on.  Katelyn thought seeing her skeleton was really cool.

Bella loved this marble swirl run and played at the exhibit for at least 20 minutes.

There was a water fountain toilet to drink from.  Bella didn't seem to mind.  Katelyn wouldn't go near it to drink water.  She found it disgusting.

Bella also like watching the slinky go down.

The cousins sat on the tall chair for a picture.

After the Exploratorium, the girls had a play date with Luke, James and Kalina in their new neighborhood.  James and Auntie Lilian ran while Bella and Katelyn raced them in a toy car and toy bike up and down the street for more than 10 times.

Katelyn played ping-pong for the first time.  Auntie Lilian was a great teacher and showed Katelyn how to serve and hit.

After dinner, they played a game of Chutes and Ladders.

The girls went to the annual pumpkin patch at G&M Farms.  They met up with Aiden again since he lives close by.  The kids had a blast on the cow ride and went on it twice.

Katelyn's favorite was the corn pit.  She dived right in.

 

It was pretty loud and hectic in the pit.  Bella decided to stay on the sidelines and put in her feet. 

The girls picked a pumpkin to bring home.  Katelyn pulled her sister and the pumpkin all the way to the parking lot.

Pool Party!

Last week, Katelyn and Bella were invited to Chase's birthday.  He had a pool party.  The girls were excited to use their inflatable tube.   They gave themselves a thumbs up for teamwork carrying the tube together.

Daddy is so nice to always get in the pool with the girls.  It was a cloudy day.  They were lucky to have sunshine in the afternoon.  The best part was the pool was heated.

Katelyn's class studied apples.  They learned about the life cycle of an apple and the names of the different part like the skin, flesh, core, seeds, steam and leaf.  Each student brought in their own apple to sketch and measure.

At the end of the week, the students made apple sauce.  She gave the taste a thumbs up!

Pumpkins were spread all over the lawn at Bella's school.  Her teacher gave her a pumpkin notebook for drawing.

During school, Bella made shapes of circles and triangles connecting the rubber bands to pegs on a pumpkin.

Mommy spent a lot of time helping Katelyn transition to Kindergarten.  Bella deserved some quality time with Mommy as well.

Mommy was sick in bed with the stomach virus that Bella had the previous week.  Daddy took the girls for some frozen yogurt.

 Katelyn made this kite with her name and Bella's.  Mommy has been proud of Katelyn's penmanship, but now even more impressed by her block lettering.

Lemos Farm

Bella had a field trip to Lemos Farm.  Katelyn was not able to join this year due to Kindergarten. Mommy worked from home since Katelyn had a dentist appointment later in the day and was not able to go too. Daddy and Bella arrived in the morning.  The farm was not as crowded as coming on weekends.

Bella was not interested in going for a ride on the real ponies.  Now that she is older she is more aware.  Last year she had no problem sitting on the pony.  This year she preferred the fake pony.

She was amazed how many pumpkins there were at the farm.

She went on the train ride with Daddy and took a selfie.  It was nice for Daddy to have some one on one time with Bella.

Sam celebrated her first birthday. She had a huge birthday cake decorated with Care Bears.  Each guest took home a Care Bear as a favor.  The girls love sleeping with their bear at night.

Outside of the clubhouse where the party was held, the kids ran around.  The kids got together for a group photo.

It's been awhile since Bella and Khloe have seen each other.  They had fun hanging and jumping off these rails.

After the party, the girls went to feed the ducks nearby.  They ran into Courtney and her grandparents. Daddy bought a bag of bread at CVS.  The ducks were hungry and crowded around the girls.

Later that evening they went to Ashley's house for dinner.  These three are always so silly around each other and have the best time!

Grandma was so happy the girls came for a visit and took her out to lunch the next day.

Katelyn got a new kite and wanted to try it out.  It wasn't that windy, so the kite stayed up in the air only for a few seconds.

Happy Birthday Po Po & Auntie Gabby

Last weekend we celebrated Po Po and Auntie Gabby's birthday.

After cake the whole family went to dinner for Italian food.  The table next to us was amazed how well behaved the girls were.  Maybe it was because they had sticker books to keep them busy and the last 15 minutes they did get to watch Dora. 

The girls met up with Auntie Caroline, Uncle Vu and Aiden the next day for lunch.  They brought Chase.  She doubled in sized since the last time we saw her.  Katelyn liked holding her leash to take her for a walk.

Katelyn was a helpful big sister brushing Bella's teeth before bedtime.

The girls like to lie in Katelyn's bed and give hugs to each other before going to bed.  It would be nice if most days are like this picture where the girls are drama free and not fighting over what the other has.

Bella had the stomach bug.  Something was going around her school.  Poor girl, only wanted to lie down under the table and kept saying her tummy hurt.

Gung Gung drove Po Po the next morning at 6am to watch Bella since Mommy and Daddy had meetings at work they couldn't skip.  It was the day after Po Po's actual birthday.  Daddy picked up some desserts to celebrate.  It turned out Bella had a 24 hour stomach bug and felt much better the next day.

Katelyn continues to like her Wipe Clean activity books of learning words.  She even wanted to write the words down on paper and check it off once she completed a word.

Bella played Bingo finding community helpers.  She is pretty good at drawing circles.

Katelyn got picked up from Kindergarten and did not have to go to her after school program since she had a dentist appointment.  Mommy packed lunch and had a quick picnic before her appointment.
